At Ultimate Bare Knuckle Boxing the Health & Safety of our fighters is paramount, a well as always having an experienced and skilled team of ringside medics and a qualified doctor we are also sanctioned by WSBKB who are the worlds foremost sanctioning body of Bare Knuckle Boxing.
IS BARE KNUCKLE BOXING SAFE?
It has been scientifically proven that getting punched off a glove does more concussive damage to the brain than getting hit off a bare or wrapped fist. Our motto is ‘you can fix broken bones but you can’t mend broken Brains’. Ultimately as we have seen tragically over the years in gloved boxing, it is this damage to the brain’s blood supply that causes such deadly and life-changing injuries. IS BARE KNUCKLE BOXING LEGAL?
Despite what a lot of people think, BKB is legal providing you have permission from the local authority and relevant police force and the appropriate safety measures in place.
WHAT ARE THE RULES?
The rules of Bare Knuckle Boxing at the same as Professional Boxing as set out by the British Board of Boxing Control, a few distinct differences. Obviously, the fighters do not wear boxing gloves, however, they are must wear hand wraps. In professional boxing there is a 10-second count with a standing 8 however in Bare Knuckle Boxing this becomes a 20 count with a standing 18 and all rounds last for two minutes and non-title fights are contested over three rounds, and title bouts are contested over five.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
We are always looking for new talent, if you have a history in combat sports and want to mix it up without gloves in the purest form of all fighting sport then this is for you. We are also looking for raw talent that is new to any form of combat sports, for both categories of fighters you would be required to attend one of our regular training days at the 'Academy of Bare Knuckle Boxing' in Warrington to train with and be accessed by Shaun and the UBKB Team.
